I am very impressed by this series, although I haven't managed to comment properly so far. I hope to manage to do so later.

Just a small nitpick with regard to this one (and the notes on it): there seems to be a bit of confusion with regard to names (sons of Feanor getting slightly mixed up, working in a hurry)?

I suppose that, by continuing down the beach, they will find Elrond and Elros and will see to it that they "do not die in the snow"?

This is a very interesting way of handling that particular decision: the idea that Maedhros had been rehearsing it to himself for a long time and then chose to do it in such a way. There is an intriguing mixture of formal and informal elements in the interaction between the two cousins here...

I really enjoyed this look at Caranthir, who I barely remember from the Silm.  You've established a believable voice and character here; he reminds me a bit of Eol, but not as sinister or bitter.  

I was confused by the use of the name Celegorm in the last two paragraphs - did you mean Celegorm or Caranthir?
