Nerdanel is given a commission - present a sculptural work to the people of Valinor that will feature images of the Valar. But as an artist, she must remain true to her personal vision. What does that vision convey to the people and to the Valar who are depicted through her carved stone? 

I made an original artwork from charcoal and pastels for 2014's B2MeM. It was entitled "Feanor Never Planned to Fall in Love". Now, three years later, I have developed the story behind that picture. Here's the full effort - Feanor Never Planned to Fall in Love in illustration and text. 

Feanaro intended his sons to be smiths or artists as he and Nerdanel were. His second son seems to have a different idea and when he spends a day at the Forge, it is a eye-opening experience for both Feanaro and his young son, Maglor. Written for the Challenge - Revolution. 

It is written that Melkor was imprisoned in the depths of Mandos for Three Aeons after his capture in Middle Earth. Studies in modern times have proven that true solitary confinement leads to madness and that interaction with others is essential to mental stability and healing. Yet, Melkor sat isolated and alone - was he already insane, or did his extreme solitude tip the balance and plunge him into deeper madness. I present a conversation between Melkor and Namo written for the Taboo challenge categories of Murder, Cannibalism, Ostracism and Exile and Consequences. 

Sent by Gil-galad to scout the old fortress of Amon Lanc, Glorfindel and Thranduil go south. They discover their mutual feelings while on their quest to the evil citadel. Written for My Slashy Valentine 2016 for Elladan's Girl. 

It is known that evil came into the world through the efforts of Morgoth. But why did his efforts always result in evil rather than good? Why did the other Valar turn their backs on one who was beautiful and placed high in the sight of Eru? Here is one possible reason.

With the males of the court all away at the annual King’s Hunt, Helyanwë and her grandmother Nerdanel leave the household compound on a quest of their own. Story written for the Bechdel Challenge – two women in an action/adventure story carrying on at least one conversation that doesn’t revolve around a male. 

A cloak of hunter green is given to a young Silvan girl.  I wanted to write a light-hearted romp through the Greenwood.  My muse did not cooperate.

I wanted this to be sharper and to explain Isildur's feelings towards the elves with greater clarity.  So I refined this a bit more.  This is what I came up with. 

What thoughts are passing through Isildur’s mind after his defeat of Sauron?  A bit of gallows humor in response to the prompt “lend”.  

In response to the prompt “borrow”, what did Celebrimbor think about when he was facing Annatar for the first time?  Did he think he was borrowing trouble?  

Mordor was not only used by evil in the Third Age.  It had been used by Morgoth in the First Age.  Brushkût, an orc from Mordor is trained to join the troops at Angband and sets off with his regiment, walking through the dead of winter towards the far north.  

It is told that Fëanáro was exiled to Formenos for threatening his half-brother with a sword.  But what was Fëanáro’s true feeling when seeing his place of exile?  A response to the prompt “Unexpected Gratitude”.

A series of drabbles centered around the theme of different types of light and featuring Earendil and Elwing.  I hope that through these small stories some light may be cast on the personalities of these characters.  

Summary:  When the fëar coming to Námo’s Halls suddenly consist of mostly women and children, the Vala of the Dead calls into question his ability to continue performing his job.  A response to the prompt “Harvest”.  Tied for First Place in ALEC September 2011 Contest.

Summary:  The movements of friendship are like the movements of a dance, when it is performed properly, it is exquisite to participate in.

Summary:  The relationship between Maeglin and Idril is complex.  His feelings for her were obsessive, and finally led to the betrayal and destruction of Gondolin and death of 1000’s.  A response to the assigned prompt “Hit the Books – The Invisible Man”
