I'm so glad you posted this here so we get to enjoy it! I love this image, the bright red on grey contrasting against the clear blue sky. What a fitting epitaph for the Rowan. Lovely, thank you!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad that you like it.

But I have to confess it isn't a rowan. At least, I don't think it is, although I'm not sure what tree it is.

I took the liberty of re-purposing the "red-jewelled" name a bit, as I thought it suited this tree, too!

This is such a beautiful image, and I love the allusion to Bilbo's song! And the phrase suits the idea of lamenting for lost rowans so well, as if Quickbeam could tell them apart by the varying reds of their berries.

(And if I correctly understood the clue about the pen name becoming an island after the War of Wrath, would you happen to have a Scavenger Hunt prompt for me?)

Thank you! I hadn't thought of it quite like that but I am sure Quickbeam could indeed tell the colours of the berries of his favourite rowans apart!

Here is your prompt:

It is a question about a character in your work. How do they feel about plants? Do they like them, in general? Is there any plant in particular that they like or dislike? You can use your answer to the question just as narrative background, but maybe it could also have an impact on your plot.
