New Challenge: Allusive
Literature and art constantly refer back to each other using allusions, and this month's prompts are inspired by allusions to literature, myth, art, and history.
Prompt words: grief, footsteps, years, slow. This one is relationship-wise slightly inspired by the Harrowing by Chthonion.
A sound of soft footsteps behind him makes Celebrimbor stop writing. He turns around, hoping to see his friend, although he already knows that the room will be empty. With a pang of grief, he remembers that Frodo is no more. It has been years since he died — his kind can’t live forever even in Valinor. Celebrimbor is happy that they were able to meet, though, and even become friends. Frodo could understand him better than anyone else, and he hopes that his company helped Frodo, too. Slowly, he leaves his desk and goes to make some tea — Frodo’s favourite.
