Ouch, this hits hard (especially given current world events). So powerful and thought-provoking, and I love it. Your inspiration piece is new to me, too. I'm very conscious of living somewhere safe, and having so many luxuries (including being able to escape into a fantasy world). Thank you for writing and sharing this.
