About Me

JunoMagic – Who is JunoMagic and why "JunoMagic"?

Juno – when I needed a penname, one of my cats graciously agreed to share her name with me, and I became Juno. Magic – although I do believe in magic, especially in the magic woven with words and songs and stories, the magical part of my penname derives simply from my e-mail address.

Speaking of my e-mail address: it is Juno_Magic at magic dot ms – please feel free to mail me!

In a letter to the editor of the 'Observer' Tolkien wrote "I am as susceptible as a dragon to flattery". I guess the same can be said for most writers! I readily admit that I thoroughly enjoy answering questions about my writing. Constructive criticism aka concrit is vital for any author wishing to improve, so don't hesitate to tell me about something you did not like, either!

"The Lord of the Rings" has been in my life since I was five years old and my mother grew bored with what was regarded as "appropriate bed time tales" for me. Twenty-four years later I discovered "online fan fiction" and I was immediately fascinated. As I have been writing original stories ever since I learned how to write, it felt natural to give fan fiction a try.

When I write stories set in Middle-earth, I attempt to explore the wonderful world Tolkien created, its roads and mountains, its rich culture and history. And I endeavour to look beyond what Tolkien wrote, far to the East, where the stars are strange, or to the Fourth Age of Middle-earth.

When I'm not JunoMagic, I'm at home in a small Franconian village with my husband and two cats. I have a professional qualification in law, and a bachelor degree in political sciences and history. Oh – and in case you were wondering: English is actually my third language.
