....to get Fingon's last thoughts. I think you are right that they would include the light and innocence of Valinor, as well as the cruelty that came after the Darkening and from there to Beleriand.

What a contrast, to recall his life at peace in Valinor at this moment. And he seems at peace with his death, a minor blessing in all the horror.
