Why?  Just because said characters share the features of being a) original and b) female?  That's not my take at all (I have pretty strong opinions about this subject).  A well-written original character, female or male, stands apart from a shallowly drawn character.  No thin line there.  And your character stands firmly in the well-written realm.  

You are completely right.  I think my opinion comes from a time when I did not take the time to flesh out the characters.  This is my first time attempting to write from an OFC POV so I may be extra-vigiliant when it comes to this issue.  Scratch that, I am extra-vigiliant to this issue.
