Oh gosh, this is an ancient -- er, vintage fic from yours truly. I wrote the bulk of it in 2011, when I was just starting out in the fandom (around the time I was writing the SPACE au), and it never really went anywhere. But I'm cleaning out my WIPs and this finally got done. Yes! Very good. Inspirational story, I'm sure you agree.
