Heavy and Squat - So What? by Himring

Fanwork Notes

This was written during an Insta-drabbling session on the SWG Discord for two Musicals Challenge prompts:

"For the sun will rise / And the moon will set / And learn how to settle / For what you get" (Cabaret)

"Take me for what I am / Who I was meant to be / And if you give a damn / Take me baby / Or leave me" (Rent).

Some more inspiration was taken from the full lyrics of the song from Cabaret.

Warning: as suggested by the summary, some issues with bias against fat people (but not from Aragorn/Thorongil).

Fanwork Information

Summary:

Compared to Salgant and Bombur, and even compared to Fredegar Bolger, Forlong seems to have the least problems in the Legendarium with being duly respected despite his girth.

But maybe even he had a less good time of it when he was younger.

Set during Aragorn's time in Gondor as Thorongil.

Hmph, he's better off without such a judgemental spouse. It is tiresome when family meddles in marriage. And yet, we can't help feeling hurt by rejection, even when we're relieved for the way out!
