A wonderful forest scene, but Aredhel looks small and rather lonely in it, and a bit as if she has been sucked in or is about to be.

Yes, the quote did seem to describe this time in her life when things took an unexpected although not wholly unpleasant turn. I'm glad the sense of scale comes across — Nan Elmoth is a weird and eldrich place! I'm so glad you like it, thank you for commenting!

Thank you Grundy!  I'm loving the way watercolour does its own thing, and I really liked the way this pool happened, almost as if it's pulling things in, or like a portal to another place — or a dream, as you say!
