Fanwork Notes

This was actually the first Silm fic I ever wrote, but not the first one I published (that honor goes to the love that seeks a reward). It was part of a crack-treated-seriously AU where Maglor, Daeron and several re-embodied elves get roped into a K-Pop group with Sauron secretly being their manager, having them wear Rings of Power to enhance their voices (while also draining the strength of their fëar). I wrote this first, because I wanted to set up Elliot as one of the human characters, but also show the curiosity of the re-embodied Elves about the Atani of the Seventh Age (assuming Arda is Earth). It stayed in the drafts for 4 years before I finally got the urge to finish it.

I hesitated to even publish it for a while, but it really does work well as a nice standalone story, and a heartfelt commentary on fan culture. Cringe culture is dead, and I hope you come along for the ride and enjoy this fic.

Thank you starspray for the encouraging words and getting me to actually publish this!

Brilliant!! Oh, I love the idea that Findekáno would want to come back to Middle Earth once he had been reembodied and I enjoyed so very much his appearance within a Tolkien conference. Elliot must be having the day of their life, honestly! Imagine meeting a hero of the first age!

I'm so glad you loved this cute idea!! Findekáno is just so grateful that people are finding meaning in these stories, and he couldn't help but reveal himself to say thank you. Elliot is absolutely freaking out inside, I'm honestly impressed she kept her composure here because I wouldn't have been able to! Thanks so much for the comment. ♥︎
