Fanwork Notes

This fic was written for the Scavenger Hunt Challenge. I decided to enter this challenge with only a week to go and at the eleventh hour after much toil and confusion about where this or that should go, I asked on the SWG discord for much needed help! And Rohan answered!

A very heartfelt thank you to Anerea for her last minute beta of this intriguing story. She was such a tremendous help and a wonderfully empowering when I honestly thought all was lost.

Prompts for this challenge include: From Dawn Felagund: ‘Turn Over A New Leaf.’ And from Himring: A quote from a poem Tolkien wrote:

 ‘The shades of evening loom

Beneath the hills, and palely bloom

Night-flowers white and sweet’

A big thank you to them both.

I must disclose that there is a mention of Celegorm Feanorian in the form of a memory.

This is just the beginning of this story. There will definitely be more.

The implications in this this are so powerful it easily stands on its own. The questions it provokes are delicious enough unanswered, although if you do continue it my curiousity would eagerly read on for more!

Oh my gosh! What a lovely comment! You spoil me too much! 🥰And I’m so glad you enjoyed what little there was to read of it. I am just bursting to share which son of Feanor this is, but don’t want to spoil the story for everyone, as you can well imagine.

I realise the sons of Fëanor are done-to-death in respect to writing. But they are just such fascinating, and complex characters, not to delve into. They have such a rich history to draw from and so I, like many others, just couldn’t help myself. This is a story I’ve been keeping close to my heart for over a year now. I had bits and pieces written for the beginning and other chapters, even as far back as the battle at Menegroth and as far forward as—well, I will keep that a secret. Let’s just say it goes far. So, it’s very heart-warming and encouraging when someone goes that extra mile in detailing how much they enjoyed your little creation. And I’m a person who’s not interested in the critiquing aspect. I just want to know if someone loved reading and what about it, they relished. So, thank you!

A son of Feanor, who leaves his brothers to escape with Iathrim refugees?

Indeed an intriguing story!

The opening scene is vividly described. And it is clear how painful the memories are and how torn he is.
