New Challenge: Allusive

Oh I had such fun listening…
Oh I had such fun listening to the playlist reading this!! Wow- a blast down memory lane!! Some I had actually never heard before tbh but SO APT!!! I am hard pressed to find a favourite- brilliantly curated!!
Loved the Silmarils singing 'Baby, you're the best!!' Or him singing to them- proper duet🤣🤣 but the groovy Robbie Dupree (which I remembered once I heard it!) is hilarious. It also makes you realise how creepy some songs are- Imaginary Lover (but the Police sang some very dodgy songs and Brown Sugar is pretty unpalatable)
Beren who? EXACTLY!! 'Lúthien gets shit done. Beren tags along.' Best line for me! But my fav song and THE most apt is Baker Street- Turin mooching around the forest getting everything wrong and playing hot sax- yes! Perfect choice!!
Great fun.
Ah, thank you; I'm so glad…
Ah, thank you; I'm so glad someone listened to it! I figured the descriptions might get a few chuckles but wasn't sure anyone would actually be down to play it. XD
I've been working on this for year, making notes and mental notes; Mr. Felagund and I listen to a fair bit of yacht rock because we grew up with it and it's nostalgic, and when I'd hear a song that could be twisted into The Silmarillion, I'd write it down or make a mental note. I'll likely add to it as time goes by. I know there are songs I heard and thought, "This is perfect for ____!" that I did not remember when the time came to bring it all together.
"Baker Street" ... best sax in a song ever, in my opinion. I had to use it, and it seemed to fit best for Túrin. I like to imagine the part of the story where he's loudly singing about Beleg and Gwindor is basically like, "STFU man ..." replaced by the sax solos in this song. Must have scared the hell out of the Orcs.
Thanks so much for reading/listening and commenting! <3
"Baker Street" ... best sax…
"Baker Street" ... best sax in a song ever, in my opinion.
Mine too! Although there is also a lovely bit of sax in Absolute Beginners by David Bowie. 😁
♡
What an absolutely classic concept! I've never heard of the term "yacht rock" before, but it is so apt — and your selection even more so! I don't have Spotify but I can hear most of them in my head and the VIBES, the Silm vibes, are spot on! Lank kiff, bru!
Not a big yacht rock fan but...
Went right to Spotify for this one:)
