New Challenge: Title Track
Tolkien's titles range from epic to lyrical to metaphorical. This month's challenge selected 125 of them as prompts for fanworks.

A series of drabbles (five in total) depicting a young elf-maiden who takes pride in her work and service for the Lady Galadriel.

Morgoth is at once defeated and triumphant.

SWG 5th Birthday Theme: Perfect Matches: Whether humorous or serious, this theme is for cross-overs of all sorts. Fingon tries to write fanfiction and Maedhros tries to help him. (Cross-over of The Silmarillion with Ellen Kushner's Swordspoint, Disney classics, fairy tales, and BBC's Merlin.)
Thanks to IgnobleBard for reading the first draft (the one and only actually--you put up with a lot from me!).

An interesting attempt at creating a poem that can be read in more than one way. About the destruction of the Lamps and the flight of the Valar from Middle Earth.
Can be for the 5th birthday challenge "The Lays of Beleriand Reloaded".

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is by many considered one of the greatest works of English medieval literature, yet its author is sadly unknown. Of course, a brilliant work of poetry must have been authored by a brilliant poet...
A crossover between The Silmarillion and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

Short whatnots and nonsense about Círdan, spanning from Cuiviénen to Forever.
1 – Rhyme of the Finwion: Thingol muddles the Noldor lords’ disturbingly similar names. Diplomatic ruin? Not with Círdan to the rescue!
2 – Nowë’s Ark: It’s the War of Wrath. And Yavanna has a wee little job for Círdan…
3 – Lavender’s Blue: Círdan chats with the blue-eyed, perfumed ex-lieutenant of Morgoth.
4 - Hunting by Number: Finrod and Círdan learn where they fall on Morgoth’s hit-list.
5 - Waiting: Nowë makes four promises to his brother. 500 words fixed length.
6 - Vertigo: Finrod and Círdan visit Barad Nimras, where it is learned that neither is without his phobias.
7 - The Way the Tide Flows: Círdan tells two visitors a tale about the Second Age and the choice that determined everything after.

Sometimes serving the Lady of the Golden Wood isn’t all it is cracked up to be.

At Finarfin's wedding feast, young Fingon surprises his family by announcing that he intends to marry Maedhros.
For the SWG 5th Birthday Celebration, Do Something That's Never Been Done theme.

For the "Do Something That's Never Been Done" Challenge. Sibling rivalry has been taken to a whole new level as Fëanaro and Fingolfin but heads for the title of Crown Prince of the Noldor. May become a larger story.

A poem, based on my impressions after reading the book for the first time.

After his rescue from Thangorodrim, Feanor's eldest dreams of the kinslaying at Alqualondë.

My Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales-based drabbles.

A sweet and light-hearted story in which a young Feanor discovers new feelings for the daughter of a craftsman. Slightly AU. Complete!

Where did the Dragons come from?

While visiting Imladris during the 20th year of the Fourth Age, Radagast overhears an elf-woman singing in the kitchen gardens of the House of Elrond. There he finds Mélamírë bending to pull weeds, but when she stands straight by a row of tomatoes, she sings a song in Radagast's mother tongue. When the wizard observes that she has used a Song of Making, she informs him of her purpose and priorities.
Inspired by a peculiar confluence of recent discussion of Lúthien on The Heretic Loremaster and ripe New Jersey tomatoes.
MEFA 2011 Winner. First Place, Ficlet, Later Age Elves

The grief of Finduilas and Gwindor, as each considers the loss of the other.

Gil-galad, Celebrimbor and a ring. Not the one you think.

Círdan gives a commentary on the Noldor princes, Lúthien has an idea, and Thingol throws pillows.

Color is a basic category of language. Every culture has terminology denoting color, but they do not all 'see' the same colors. This is a look at the color terms that Tolkien translated into Quenya and Sindarin and what might be the sociolinguistic implications for these.

"Natural disaster" is such a broad term... ;)

After the Fall of Doriath, the surviving sons of Feanor retreat to Amon Ereb. Maedhros is haunted by memories of Caranthir and a promise he made to Nerdanel. Amrod persuades him to leave.
Tweaks to canon (compare end-notes).
Although the death of Caranthir and the battle of Menegroth precede the events described in the story, they are remembered in some detail and so have been marked in the Warnings.

The Last Ship is about to sail from the Grey Havens and an unexpected encounter an unexpected encounter leads Celeborn to ponder some new questions.
