About Me

Hello, everyone!  I'm delighted to be here.  I live in Tucson, AZ with my dog Benny Beans and came late to fan fic writing, having lurked about on various websites for 15 years.

Writing drama is hard for me.  My best work always has involved humor.  My first fan fic, Elrond & Celebrian, is posted here and only here. I'm adding more. I am NOT web-savy!

I love Elrond/Gil-galad pairings and am absurdly jealous and depressed to see the king choose a lover other than Elrond, unless they haven't yet met.  Sorry, that's my quirk. I admit it.

I don't write R-rated slash, though I've nothing against it.  Can read it;  can't write it.

Perhaps I'm the oldest member on SWG.  I was born, kiddies, safe in Detroit after the fall of France to the Nazis and before the start of the blitz. JRRT was working on Fellowship of the Ring at the time.

When I was 30, a friend lent me a book that began, "In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit."  I was hooked.

1977 found me job-hunting in Eugene, Oregon with my shiny new Master's degree.  The day the Silmarillion hit the bookstores, I was there, clutching my checkbook.

While reading it, I worked my way through all my hankies and a box of tissues.

I have not read much of the post-Sil. writings.

Now I'm reviewing Morgoth's Ring to get some background for my next work.

For the time being, I've chosen to back-burner most of my RL for a wild ride with Mr. T. and his admirers writing on-line.

Art, I've found, doesn't imitate life.  It reshapes it, fluffing the pillows a bit, then giving it back to us--in this case, with Tolkien's words and Howard Shore's music.

Story-telling and music!  Two of the most ancient of arts.

We Tolkien lovers have the privilege of following this brilliant, wonderful man into his imaginary world where we can poke our fingers (or drive our 18-wheelers) through the holes in the canon.  This is the world which we can,and do inhabit and arrange to suit our fancies. That is much harder to do with real life.
