I must have read this before on AO3, but I came across it again in browsing and just want to say once again how very much I loved this fic and all the pain and beauty you put into it. 💖

A truly amazing orc fic!

You've packed a lot of emotion into a very few words.  Maglor, questioning his ingrained beliefs, but unable to come to an answer...the poor Orc, now I want to know more about it!  It's so interesting that Maglor has tried this once before...maybe there's something here about trying for yourself versus trying for someone else? (And also I love that the Orcs preferred to be referred to as 'it'.)

(May I have a Challenge Prompt for Scavenger Hunt?)

Thank you so much!

I think a number of factors were probably coming together here that were different between the first and the second attempt. Maglor did believe he was doing it for the Orc as much as for anyone else in the First Age, too, but it was still much more his idea and not the Orc's.

Your prompt is: someone goes on a long journey or, possibly, a journey that seems long to them, even if others may not consider it so. (Completely metaphorical journeys also count.)

Let me know if for any reason that does not work for you, and I will try again!
