New Challenge: Allusive
Literature and art constantly refer back to each other using allusions, and this month's prompts are inspired by allusions to literature, myth, art, and history.
From Anna IdleLeaves's prompt: alive, storm, never, one
“Will you ever come back?”
Never. I cannot. I do not wish it.
“Were we not enough? Did you feel that we loved you less than what you deserved?”
Never. Love was plentiful; I have never felt it’s drought.
“Is there anything, any one thing, that could change your mind?”
The storm that clouds my mind will not pass. You must accept that.
“We know. It is hard.”
Staying alive was harder. You have the beginnings of your family.
“You are my family.”
And I want you to find another, without me. I am content. I am dead, and happy.
