This month's challenge features hundreds of fresh prompts from the bodacious decade of the 1980s.

The Lays JRR Tolkien did not write for very good reasons. Part Eight: The Harp and other poems. MEFA 2010 nominee.

For Back to Middle-earth Month 2009: scenes from the life of young Pengolodh, the loremaster of Gondolin whose writings brought us The Silmarillion.

Truth for Day Eight: Beauty/Ugliness
The Mountains and the Sea, for Day Nine: Anti-Heroes

Celebrimbor discovers that Annatar has betrayed them all, and has to take responsibility for the situation before total disaster can result.

Celebrimbor and Annatar meet for the first time.

A very light but ambitious confection written mostly for the author’s pleasure wherein JRR Tolkien’s male canon characters are cast in roles from Ian Fleming’s work. Only the crazy plot belongs to the author.

Departure, to be followed by a return.

At the beginning of the Second Age Gil-galad must decide what to do about the surviving Fëanorian followers. Can the Noldor be reconciled?

After the fall of Nargothrond more ill-news reaches Balar

In order to finish one of his greatest achievements, Celebrimbor applies a skill he considered forgotten. Added: long overdue author notes.

Thank you Robinka!

Celebrimbor reflects on his father's final act.
~Triple drabble~
OSA Drabble Challenge #101 - Reflection and Tolkien Tango Challenge - Silence
2009 MEFA Honorable Mention, Genres: Drama: House of Finwe

Celebrimbor faces a hard choice when his father tries to usurp the crown of Nargothrond.

A very irreverent and heretical look at the Silmarillion Elves in terms of their "horticultural" potential. Has very strong sexual innuendo and adult language. You have been warned. *Complete!
***Some varieties were updated on Jan 1, 2009 to include my LJ friends' names in their particular muse's entry.

"Yet neither bread nor rest would [Orodreth] grant to Celegorm and Curufin within his realm, and he swore that there would be little love between Nargothrond and the Sons of Fëanor thereafter.
‘Let it be so!' Said Celegorm, and there was a light of menace in his eyes; but Curufin smiled [...] In that time Celebrimbor the son of Curufin repudiated the deeds of his father, and remained in Nargothrond."
A study of a father and son, with a momentous decision.

Like Lady MacBeth, Celebrimbor discovers how much blood is in a body, so much so that water cannot wash it easily away.
For OSA Drabble challenge - Water Also, dedicated to Dawn Felagund for being forgiving and protective like Uncle Maedhros.
2008 MEFA Winner - 2nd Place Elves: Noldor Fixed-Length Ficlets

Celebrimbor is told of Curufin's death in an accidental moment.

A satirical look at how an election for the King of Nargothrond might have gone based on current political events. Silly, irreverent, and full of bad metaphors. Updated especially for Fanged Geranium.

Young Pengolodh meets his first Fëanorian beside the sea, as Celebrimbor attempts to replicate Fëanor's greatest accomplishment: harnessing light. MEFA 2008 nominee.

An old, old Celebrimbor drabble, written once upon a time ago for the HASA Word of the Day challenge.

Sauron's last request of Celebrimbor. A double drabble epilogue of sorts to Cat's Paws.
MEFA 2008: First Place, Villains, Fixed Length Ficlet

Tyelperinquar/Tyelpo (Celebrimbor) and Aulendil (Annatar/Sauron) discuss brotherhood and the secret of the deep arts on an early summer evening in Ost-in-Edhil.
This fic, told from Celebrimbor's point of view, predates The Apprentice by about 240 years, give or take, but it's the same setting. Rating is Teen due to a touch of horror-lite.
MEFA 2008: Second Place, Villains, General.
Illustration by Robinka added on 14 February 2009.

Noldorin journeymen and masters of the Gwaith-i-Mírdain discuss the secrets of lembas with a Sindarin apprentice to the Yavannildi/Ivonwin.
This was written as a lark in response to the Lembas SWG challenge, but I suppose it could also address the Secret Knowledge challenge. It was meant primarily for SWG site owner’s entertainment, but since I have already embarrassed myself thoroughly via The Apprentice and other self-indulgent hackery, what the heck…I may as well toss this up here on the SWG.
MEFA 2008: Honorable Mention, Elves, General.

An ambitious young Noldorin man of Ost-in-Edhil lands a coveted appointment as an apprentice to the most skilled master smith of the Gwaith-i-Mirdain: Istyar Aulendil. The apprentice's mentor, a prodigy of the Aulënossë, has been sent to Middle-earth by the Valar and has knowledge of exotic and wondrous technology. Istyar Aulendil also has notoriously high standards. The apprentice must meet his mentor's expectations if he is to become a journeyman and work on an important new initiative.
MEFA 2008: First Place, Villains, General.

In July 2007, the Seven in '07 event honored the House of Fëanor and the inspiration it has given to the Tolkien fandom. Each character's page included a brief biography, archived here for ease of reference. Please see the Table of Contents for a listing of all available characters.

In a brief biography written for the Seven in '07 event, Celebrimbor was originally a Lord of the Rings character retrofitted into The Silmarillion.

Celebrimbor creates the Elessar.
