New Challenge: Everyman
Create a fanwork about an ordinary character in the legendarium using a quote about an unnamed character as inspiration.

“Yet he (Maglor) yielded at last to the will of Maedhros, and they ..., laid hands on the jewels. ...Each of them took to himself a Silmaril, for they said: “Since one is lost to us, and but two remain, and we two alone of our brothers, so it is plain that fate would have us share the heirlooms of our father.”
This is where it all began.

"He's getting better," Idril had told her quietly. "And he was never really all the bad." It was those words that led Nimloth to come that day, to face someone she had put out of her mind. Elrond and Elros return to Sirion, take up sailing lessons with Círdan in Balar, and are forced to confront aspects of their past they’d both rather avoid.

Through all seasons–winter and spring, hardship and ease, dark and light–they were forever side-by-side, to guide and protect, to love and cherish. This is just a small glimpse at their years together; a small window into their lives and their infinite love for one another.

At the Mereth Aderthad, Lalwen wants all her family members to behave. Fingon wants them to actually like each other. Either way, will the House of Finwë ever pull it together enough to impress Doriath? (Pairings: Fingon/Maedhros and Lalwen/OFC)

Started a while ago, but finished at this time in response to the legendarium ladies april event on Tumblr.

A short essay for the fun of it.

Yavanna has a nightmare about her sister, Vana, confronting Sauron and the (allegorical) rise of industry.

A short poem and a portrait of Melkor.

On the first day of winter, young Eärendil announces its arrival to his parents very early in the morning, and the chill of memories pierces Idril to the core.

The First Music goes off without a hitch; Arda is unmarred, and the Theme goes on and on without one dissonant voice in the choir.

Melkor reflects upon his past dwelling places, and the lessons learned in failure.

After a very long journey, Elwing comes to Alqualondë.
