New Challenge: Epic 80s
This month's challenge features hundreds of fresh prompts from the bodacious decade of the 1980s.

Even at the best of times, life in the Black Land is a struggle. Its denizens seem to be their own worst enemies and things are rarely as they first seem. A certain Orc finds that out the hard way. Sequel to "Wolves And Shattered Shields".

An Orc and an Elf tries to learn to live with a bond that should not be, but as the War between the Elves and Sauron picks up things go from bad to worse. Sequel to "The Ties that Bind".

Middle Earth, early Second Age. An Orc captures a young Noldo during an ambush in the White Mountains. He plans to use her for some "sport", but things don't go according to plan. Or perhaps they do?

This is mainly Idril gushing over what a hunk Tuor is. I'm pretty sure that's canon.
I owe a thank you again to IgnobleBard for a quick and dirty Beta read.

Melian tries to help Finrod.

Brief scenes of the love between a Sindarin Elf of Nevrast and a Noldo follower of Turgon: meeting and parting in the midst of loss, betrayal, and war. (A double drabble poem, a prose-poem, and four ficlets.)

Fingolfin orders the separation of Finrod and Glorfindel.

Finrod and Glorfindel head downriver.

Finrod and Glorfindel are introduced.

Turgon confesses manipulating people.

Glorfindel returns to Finrod.

“Because in a few years you’ll sit in Mandos’ halls and regret your choices!"
Sometimes dark and gloomy thoughts are necessary to unveil the truth.

Nearly two decades after rescuing Maedhros from Angband, Fingon visits him at his newly-completed fortress of Himring. Much has changed since they were carefree in love in the bliss of Valinor, and they too must change in order to overcome the obstacles of their new situation.

Finrod meets Glorfindel. Swimming. There are golden flowers.
I just want to point out that Finrod had a badge bearing a crown of golden flowers. In my view the flower is gorse, also known as whin, often found in dells.

Gil-galad spends some free time at the beach close to his realm in Lindon, thinking he is alone until he realizes that Elrond is present as well.
Based on the wonderful MMM-prompt: "His sword was long, his lance was keen" - and he has to 'polish' it regularly."

Haleth and her people are newly settled in Brethil. Lúthien is drawn to learn more about mortals, and Haleth in particular. (Haleth/Lúthien.)

Fingolfin wants to make Fëanor pay for the burning of the ships in his very own way. Canon divergence AU for Fëanor being still alive when Fingolfin and his followers reach Beleriand.

It is twenty-eight years, three months, one week, and six days from the date of Maedhros' rescue, meaning that starting today, he has been free for longer than he was a prisoner.

Struggling with the burden of her mortality, Gilmith reaches out to an unlikely savior.

Finduilas, Niënor and Nellas all live on Amon Obel. Entanglements are inevitable.

Glorfindel meets a strange being beside the sea at Mithlond and is amazed months later when Erestor makes his way to Imladris to find him. But for everything, there is a price.

After six thousand years in Mandos, Fingon and Maedhros rejoin the world. Nothing will ever be the same as it was, but a remote plot of land, a cabin, a garden, and a few animals are all they need.

Írimë goes into exile and Elemmírë stays behind, but their thoughts are with each other, on the Ice or in the darkness. (A sequence of five drabbles.)

I live under your/domain. You rule with gentle/kisses, golden smiles.
From Indis to Nerdanel.

Two (female) Sindar before the return of Morgoth from Valinor--one of them looking back on that time.
